The story so far..
It all started at the tender age of 18 months old when my mum and dad first sat me on the beach donkeys at Weston Super Mare for the first time! From here I became hooked on horses and riding them!
My first proper lesson was at 3 years old - my ability (and my body!) grew from riding little ponies on the lead rein to bigger ponies learning to jump aged 6.
From 6 years old I had a pony on loan called Flint at the riding school - he was my 'own' pony for a whole Sunday afternoon and I brushed him and fussed him to within an inch of his life!
I wasn't aware that my parents were thinking of getting my own pony a while after this and after they spoke to my riding instructor it was decided that Flint, as much as I loved him, was just too small for me.
Flint was sold to another child and I was devestated!
However the next Christmas, aged 8, I got the best present ever - my own pony!
Pepper was a 4yr old 13.1hh bay gelding - and I learnt everything on him! I competed in everything I could, x country, dressage, mounted games and showing. My real love though was showjumping and Pepper enjoyed it too so we gradually phased out other events in favour of Jumping.
Aged 13, I had outgrown Pepper - both in size and his ability and a bigger pony Benson was found.
Benson was my foot in the door at affiliated level and soon I had Flash, a difficult coloured irish pony, and Krystal, a fiesty chestnut mare in my team.
Krystal turned out to be the pony of my junior career - difficult to ride but careful, quick and bold we shot through the levels from novice to JA - the highest grade a pony can be, and competed in all the big events in the biggest classes.
In my last year in Juniors, Krystal qualified for 3 major championships and was placed in every single one of them!
She came a highly impressive 2nd in the JA final at Hickstead held in the main arena, beaten only by the best pony in the country at the time then 2 weeks later was placed 2nd again in the Starspotters final at Scope festival.
From here the ponies were sold to make way for horses so I could go into seniors - and I got my first horse Sniff!
